Marvel Mangaverse Returns, Weird Al Joins DC & Marvel Zombies Are Back | Drew’s News

This week on Drew’s News, we’re looking at a packed round of comic book announcements from Marvel and DC.

Marvel is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Marvel Mangaverse with five weekly one-shots launching in September, including stories featuring Miles Morales, Laura Kinney, Illyana Rasputin, Riri Williams, Moon Knight, Bucky Barnes, Wiccan, Carnage, and Ghostlocke. Marvel Zombies also returns with Marvel Zombies: War Zone, putting The Punisher, Luke Cage, Elektra, Iron Fist, and Moon Knight inside a zombie-overrun Manhattan. Plus, Spider-Woman gets a 50th Anniversary Special that sends Jessica Drew into a darker detective-focused era.

Over at DC, Absolute Cassandra Cain: The Shadow’s Hand spins out of Absolute Catwoman, revealing a new origin tied to Lady Shiva, The Joker, and Selina Kyle. And yes, Batman and Superman are teaming up with “Weird Al” Yankovic in Batman/Superman/Weird Al: World’s Weirdest #1 from Mark Waid and Dan Schoening.
