Alex Schumacher

Alex Schumacher is an award-winning artist and writer whose work ranges from all-ages adventure to surreal satire. His books include The Effects of Pickled Herring, named one of the American Library Association’s Best Graphic Novels for Children of 2024, along with Flash Gordon Adventures! Vol. 2, Punk Taco Adventures!, and stories for Scott Snyder Presents: The Cloakroom. He is also the creator of the webcomic Mr. Butterchips, whose collected edition was named Biff Bam Pop’s Best Book of 2020. Beyond his comics work, he has contributed essays and criticism to Comicon.com, The Comic Book Yeti, and Monkeys Fighting Robots, and designed a limited-edition touring poster for The Toadies. He is currently working on the Schticks & Stones Holiday Special and other projects in development, and shares updates through his Quarterly Newsmacher newsletter.
