Kyle Starks

Kyle Starks is a three-time Eisner-nominated comic creator from Southern Indiana whose work moves easily between action-comedy, horror, and off-center superhero stories. He is likely best known as the longest-tenured writer and occasional artist on Oni Press’s Rick and Morty comic, along with creator-owned books like Sexcastle, Rock Candy Mountain, and I Hate This Place.

His Eisner nominations for Best Humor Publication came from Sexcastle, Rock Candy Mountain, and I Hate This Place, which together make a good map of what he does best: sharp timing, absurdity treated seriously, and premises that immediately stand out on a shelf. Across mainstream publishers he has written Peacemaker Tries Hard! for DC, Assassin Nation with Erica Henderson for Skybound, 6 Sidekicks of Trigger Keaton and Dead of Winter for Oni Press, Mars Attacks with Chris Schweizer for Dynamite, plus work for Marvel and additional DC anthologies.
