Incredible Hulk #30: The End of the (Monster) Road

In this, the final issue of the first arc, and indeed of the title Incredible Hulk as we head towards The Infernal Hulk, Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Adam Gorham go above (below?) and beyond!

Eldest pulls out all of the stops and possesses the body of Abomination.  In a raging battle for control of Hulk’s body, which is protected slightly by a spell cast upon Banner by Brother Voodoo, Eldest rips Banner from Hulk and casts his body onto the Requiem Plain.  In his last moments, looking upon Banner, Hulk asks him to apologize to Charlie for him.  Now, unprotected, Hulk is possessed by Eldest and finally opens the door that The One Above All locked the Mother of Horrors behind in his revenge for her corruption of his creations and himself.

However, after passing through the door, Eldest finds Vinruviel not responding to their cries.  A gorgeously disgusting splash page by Gorham shows the Mother of Horrors chained, still, milky eyed, and appearing quite dead.  This pushes Eldest past any point of sanity that might have remained, and they tear into her flesh and devour her to take her power for their own.  It is a grotesque scene, as he chomps and slurps her insides, laughing maniacally as he absorbs her essence. 

Everything that came before is now gone.  All that remains is Hulk.  Please prepare yourself for The Infernal Hulk.
