I write all my cliffhangers — and this is the God's honest truth — with no idea how to get out of them. A month from now, that Mark Waid is cursing this Mark Waid.

About Mark Waid

Mark Waid is one of the most prolific and beloved writers in modern comics, with defining runs on The Flash, Kingdom Come, Captain America, Fantastic Four, Daredevil, and Superman: Birthright.

Before becoming a full-time writer, Waid worked as an editor at DC Comics, and that editorial background still shows up in the way he talks about continuity, structure, and the emotional logic of shared universes. In his current DC stretch he is writing World's Finest, Action Comics, Justice League Unlimited, and The New History of the DC Universe, while recently completing Batman and Robin: Year One with Chris Samnee.

Waid remains one of the clearest evangelists for superhero optimism, continuity used as a storytelling tool, and the idea that Batman and Superman work best as friends rather than opposites. His work continues to connect classic DC history to the present tense without flattening either one.
